Your VOICE is Vital

Belonging brings purpose. Passion fuels change.

When we identify where our privilege intersects with somebody else's oppression, we'll find our opportunities to make real change.

NDHRC is...

Connection. Knowledge. Impact.

Our Coalition is best sustained by monthly donations via automatic deduction from a bank account. The donation amount can be as small as $5 or as large as your budget and income permit. Regardless of size, it is the steady stream of resources that makes it possible to pay staff, plan reliably, live the mission and achieve the vision. While NDHRC welcomes and is grateful for every one-time donation, the history of nonprofit organizations in the US, and our own financial past, have reinforced the importance of cultivating members who understand that ensuring organizational sustainability IS a means of advancing human rights in North Dakota. We hope your household or organization will join us as a sustaining member.

Individual Membership

Dream a culture of belonging.

NDHRC members are alike in a fundamental way. We believe, as MLK did, that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Individuals who donate $25 (more if you can, less if you can’t) are considered members. Your contact information is added to the Coalition’s mailing list. You have the option to choose the type of mail you want to receive and can unsubscribe at any time.

Make a difference.

Learn organizing skills.

Connect to others.

Be a catalyst.

Organizational Membership

Develop a wider reach.

As NDHRC evolves and expands its issue base, organizations are an important partner in identifying and catalyzing policy change, as well as community opinion and action. Our Coalition helps to ensure broad communication among organizations with shared needs. Through the coalition, member organizations can collaborate more easily and work more effectively on inter-related human rights issues.

NDHRC began in 2001 when 61 organizations organized in response to legislative inaction. You can help revitalize organizational memberships:

  • Ask your organization to sign on
  • Share management contact information so our staff can reach out
  • Talk to coworkers about the benefits of collaborating via a coalition

Monitor relevant legislation.

Promote your organization.

Receive notice of policy actions.

Build lobbying support.

True belonging is not passive. It's not the belonging that comes with just joining a group. It's not fitting in or pretending or selling out because it's safer. It's a practice that requires us to be vulnerable, get uncomfortable, and learn how to be present with people without sacrificing who we are.

Donations are temporarily offline

We are currently transitioning to a new donor database. Donations should be online again March 27th, 2025.

If you have a recurring donation, it will need to be re-enabled, unfortunately. You will receive email instructions shortly.

Thank you so much for your support of NDHRC.
