Human Rights Summit

For the past fifteen years, NDHRC has hosted a signature event, the ND Human Rights Summit, each featuring a relevant human rights issue, as well as recognition of the annual Arc of Justice Award winners.

Originally scheduled for November of each year, the 2024 Summit was moved to April and will be held in the spring going forward, typically on a Saturday. The one day event features speakers and panels discussing relevant human rights issues with the goal of organizing collective action and changing the political landscape of the state. As part of the day, Arc of Justice awards are given to individuals and organizations who personify the efforts behind bending “the arc of the moral universe” toward justice. Past summits have focused on housing, legislative action, Indigenous rights, and many other topics.

Arc of Justice Award Winners

We recognize Helpers and Heroes by listing them as Resources and more selectively via the Arc of Justice awards which are given out by the Coalition at the annual Human Rights Summit.

Arc of Justice awards are given to individuals and organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to human rights through action, activism and allyship within the past year. Members are invited to submit names of individuals or organizations at any time during the year via our application form linked below.
