The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is planning to close its office in Denver (the Rocky Mountain Regional Office).

This would severely reduce the services of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to the people of North Dakota, and to the North Dakota Advisory Committee to the Commission.  If the Denver office closes, the 7 states it serves will be transferred to the Los Angeles office (which already has 9 western states).  More information on the services the Denver office has provided to the citizens of North Dakota is at:

The North Dakota Human Rights Coalition has written to the Congressional delegation, Senator Byron Dorgan, Senator Kent Conrad, and Representative Earl Pomeroy to ask them to intercede to avoid the closing of the Denver office.  Links to the letters are listed above.  Please call, e-mail or write to the Congressional delegation to let them know that we need the Denver office of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to remain open.
