Testimony Senate Bill 2185 Senate Human Services Committee January 18, 2005
Chairman Lee and members of the Committee, I am Cheryl Bergian, Director of the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition. The Coalition includes a broad-based, statewide membership of individuals and organizations interested in the furtherance of human rights in North Dakota; the Coalition’s mission is to effect change so that all people in North Dakota enjoy full human rights.
We support the passage of SB 2185, which would continue the Workers with Disabilities program in North Dakota. The program has shown its success in the current biennium, and continuation would provide the opportunity for people with disabilities to work and maintain health coverage, as well as conserve the tax resources in our state.
We ask for a do pass recommendation on Senate Bill 2185. I appreciate this opportunity to testify on behalf of the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition.
